Why does the gold price change every day?
Gold in Pakistan follows the international gold price (per ounce in US dollars) and the dollar rate in Pakistan. When world gold rises or the rupee weakens, the local rate goes up. You can follow the trend on our gold price chart and gold rate history.
How much gold makes zakat due?
Zakat is due when you own at least 7.5 tola (87.48 grams) of gold, or 52.5 tola of silver, for a full Islamic year. The zakat rate is 2.5%. Use our zakat calculator with today’s rates.
Why is the jeweller’s price higher than this rate?
The rates here are bullion rates for pure gold. Jewellers add making charges (often called “mazdoori”) and sometimes a small margin, so a jewellery price is usually higher than the bullion rate.
